MyLang — Deleting Your Account and Data

If you no longer wish to use MyLang and want your account and all associated data permanently deleted, we're here to help.

WHAT WILL BE DELETED

When you request account deletion, we will permanently remove:
- Your account and phone number
- Your reading progress, bookmarks, and personal notes
- Your library purchase records linked to your MyLang account
- Any push notification tokens or app-generated identifiers linked to your account
- Any support requests or messages associated with your account

WHAT WILL BE RETAINED

For legal, tax, and audit reasons, we retain the following minimum information for the period required by Indian law (typically up to 8 years for financial records):
- Purchase invoices (transaction records with anonymized identifiers)
- Any records legally required by GST, income tax, or MCA regulations

These records are retained in aggregated or anonymized form wherever possible.

HOW TO REQUEST DELETION

Email us at contact@mylang.in with the subject line "Delete My Account" and include:
- The phone number registered with your MyLang account
- Confirmation that you wish to permanently delete your account and data

We will:
1. Verify your identity by calling or messaging the registered phone number
2. Confirm the deletion request with you
3. Delete your account and associated data within 14 business days
4. Send you a confirmation email once deletion is complete

Once deleted, your account and reading history cannot be recovered. You will need to create a new account to use MyLang again, and previous purchases will no longer be accessible.
